Waiting for Hope

Patience-- it is hard to wait with hope, but even harder to wait for hope. I know this all too well. Even now, as Seth is in surgery, I know about having no hope and waiting for it. I'm very tired and I know it's going to be a long week. I pray continually, knowing that CS Lewis was right- prayer does not change God, it changes me. I certainly need changing.

As I was finishing the above paragraph, with tear-filled eyes, Maura, our surgeon's gentle and sweet nurse came in. Seth is off the heart/lung machine. All is well.
